Faye Evelyn Nicley Ruth

Faye Evelyn Nicley Ruth, age 91, of Corryton, passed away October 25, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. Faye was born January 6, 1934, to the late Henry Clay and Maude Nicley. She grew up in the Burlington community. Faye met and married Don in 1953 and had almost 67 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. They lived in east Knoxville until their children graduated from Holston High School. She belonged for over 70 years to McCalla Avenue Baptist Church which later merged and became Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church. This is where they raised their children. They formed many life-long friendships through the church. Faye was a long-time employee of Joseph Construction Company. In fact, it was just her and Joe when he started the construction company in the 1970's. Faye loved her work family.In addition to her husband and parents, Faye was preceded in death by sister Mae and brother-in-law Brad Napier, parents-in-law Perlow and Elsie Clapp Ruth, and Don's siblings Edna Jones, Opal Mullins, Irene Stitch, Gerald Ruth, and J. P. Ruth. Remaining to cherish Faye's memory are her son Randy (Lora) Ruth and daughter Tammy (Wes) Dean. Her beloved grandchildren Amanda (Gabe) Slover, Clay (Beth) Ruth, and Kari (Stefan) Clark. Her great-grandchildren include Anie Slover; Caiden, Addie, Sadie, and Henry Ruth; and Cadence and baby Clark who is due in April. Faye also leaves behind cousins along with several nieces and nephews.The family will be celebrating Faye's life on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Ave, with a receiving of friends from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. There will be a graveside service with burial at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Grainger County on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm. The family will leave Rose Mortuary at 11:30a.m. Thursday morning. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church in honor of Faye or to the charity of your choice.
