Ms. Rutledge was born in Donalsonville, GA on April 3, 1946, to Jiley Mack Cross and Christine Smith Cross. She was a high school graduate and drove a school bus for the Miller County School System for 32 years, as well as worked as a paraprofessional in the library. Faye’s days consisted of meeting friends for lunch at Jo’s Family Restaurant and supper at 3 Squares. She truly enjoyed playing Bingo at the Senior Citizens Center in Donalsonville, especially when her sidekick, Dale Cunningham was there to participate as well. Ms. Rutledge loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, but of course the grandkids and great grandkids were the “apples of her eyes”. They affectionately nicknamed her “Grandma Fluffy”.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Cindy Ingram and husband Michael of Headland, AL, Ralph Rutledge and wife Julia of Colquitt, GA, and Shane Cox and wife Christy of Level Plains, AL; her siblings, Louie Cross of Donalsonville, GA, Wendell “Buddy” Cross and wife Pat of Donalsonville, GA, Robin Cross of Donalsonville, GA, and Jackie Brimlow Alday of Donalsonville, GA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Erica Saye and husband Robert, Hunter Rutledge and wife Kennie, Andrew Logan and wife Kennedy, Madison Moore and husband Nolan, and Grady Ingram; her great grandchildren, Kinley, Avery, and Evan Logan, Hazel Saye, and Athena Moore; as well as a special aunt, Beatrice Widner of Iron City, GA. Numerous nephews and nieces also survive.
Ms. Rutledge was preceded in death by her parents, Jiley Mack Cross and Christine Smith Cross; her siblings, Mabel Shiver, J.M. Cross, and Sara Cook; as well as sisters-in-law, Elaine Cross and Angie Cross.
