Fannie Ree Willis (Thomas)
July 15, 1937 – October 10, 2025
Faye Willis, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Florence, Kentucky on October 10, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born on July 15, 1937, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, Faye was the youngest daughter of Elmore Thomas and Mae (Lee) Thomas. She was the baby girl of sixteen siblings, and her life was filled with the warmth and joy of a large, loving family.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her cherished granddaughter Amanda Hocker, and fifteen of her siblings. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Wayne Willis; her daughter Carla (David) Hocker; her brother Lowell (Sandy) Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A woman of unwavering faith, Faye was baptized in the river at the age of 12 and spent her life sharing the gospel and love of Jesus with everyone she met. Prior to her illness, she was an active and joyful member of Florence Baptist Temple, where she taught Sunday School, served in the food pantry, and was known for her generous cooking and hospitality.
Faye had a zest for life and a heart for people. She found joy in yard sales, browsing the flea market, and shopping at Dillard's. Her classic style, quick wit, and warm personality charmed all who knew her. She radiated love, grace, and kindness-qualities that stemmed from her deep devotion to God.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, Kentucky 41042 from 12pm-2pm. Service will begin at 2pm. Burial will follow at Richwood Presbyterian Church in Walton, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Family Church Building Fund in honor of Faye's lifelong commitment to faith and service.
Faye's legacy is one of faith, family, and friendship. She will be remembered for her laughter, her strength, and the way she made everyone feel seen and loved.
