Obituary published on Legacy.com by Morton's Mortuary on Oct. 25, 2025.
Felicie Bernard, affectionately known as Manman, age 87, entered into eternal rest on Thursday,
October 23, 2025, in
Bridgeport, CT. She was born on October 30, 1937, in Pestel, Haiti, to the
late Fils Forestal and Felicia Jean Pierre. Felicie was united in holy matrimony to the late Jerome
Hermann Bernard on June 20, 1957. Together, they built a legacy of love, faith, and family that
will endure for generations.
Felicie's faith was steadfast and unwavering. She devoted her life to God and found strength and
peace in His Word. Her favorite scripture, Psalm 118:17, reads, "I shall not die, but live, and
declare the works of the Lord." Those words guided her life - a life that was a living testimony
of grace, devotion, and perseverance. No matter the circumstance, when asked how she was,
Manman would always answer with quiet assurance - that she was in the hands of the Lord.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Felicie gave herself completely to her
family. She lived a life of selflessness and compassion, always putting others before herself. Her
hands were gentle yet strong, her heart open and nurturing. She cared for everyone around her,
giving endlessly without ever seeking anything in return. Her love was the quiet force that held
her family together - a love that will continue to flow through her children, grandchildren, and
the generations yet to come.
Later in life, she joined her beloved husband in the United States, continuing to share her
kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit with all who knew her. Felicie had a comforting presence
and a radiant smile that could light even the heaviest heart. She embodied grace, faith, and
strength - a woman of God whose life was a reflection of His love.
She was loved deeply and will be profoundly missed. Her memory will remain a blessing and her
legacy a guiding light for all who were fortunate to know her. Though her earthly journey has
come to a close, we rejoice knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and resting
peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
Felicie is survived by her seven children - Hernanie Bernard; Miriam Joseph and her husband,
Guirlene Bernard; Ancie Rene and her husband; Lesly Bernard and his wife, Chrismine Bernard
and Jonas Bernard, her stepchildren Eliette Bernard, Jorel Bernard and his wife. She is also
survived by her nine grandchildren - Marcus, Phillip, Nephthalie, Ludnie, Nyah, Karla, Benjy,
Nadgie, and Christ-Edy; her nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Rest peacefully, our precious Maman. Your purpose here on earth has been fulfilled, and you
have received your eternal reward. Your love will live forever in our hearts, and your faith will
continue to inspire us all.
