Felipa Torres was born on May 1, 1936, in Italy, Texas. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 12, 2025.
Felipa was the daughter of Cristobal and Seferina Gutierrez and one of 13 siblings. She grew up in the Sandtown community of Italy, Texas, and briefly attended Avalon School. For health reasons, she later moved to San Angelo, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Domingo Torres. The two married on June 7, 1958, in San Marcos, Texas. After a short time there, they moved back to Italy before settling permanently in Hillsboro in 1970, where they raised their four children. In 2000, Felipa and Domingo retired to Abbott, where they enjoyed the peace of country living.
Felipa was a fun-loving, music-filled soul with a deep love for dancing and baseball. She was a devoted Texas Rangers fan, and her favorite player was Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was thrilled to meet her first great-grandchild, Ezra.
