Felipe Joseph passed away after a short illness on September 21, 2025, surrounded by his family at the age of 85.
Felipe was a truly remarkable man. He cherished by all who knew him as a loving husband, father and grandfather. His life was a testament to hard work and a diverse range of skills. He was a man who embraced life’s challenges with a tireless spirit and a practical approach. His career spanned several fields, including construction, farming, and even welding. As well as auto repair. He often reminisced about his youthful escapades with his brothers. Recounting their adventures with a twinkle in his eye and a vivid picture of a close bond and a life lived fully. He will be greatly missed.
Felipe was preceded in death by his parents Daniel Joseph Sr and Consuelo (Rivera) Joseph; father -in-law Leandro Salazar; mother-in-law Odilia Salazar; brothers Pete Joseph, Epimenio Joseph and Julian Joseph; brothers-in-law Augustin (Jose L) Salazar, Paul Sanchez, Frutos Chavez and Pete Manzanares; sisters-in-law Helen Sanchez and Alice Sanchez; nephews Calvin, Dwain Salazar, William Martinez and Carl Manzanares.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Sara Joseph; children Donna Vigil (Severo), David Joseph (Maria Luz) and Kenny Joseph and his companion; grandchildren Kristal Vigil, Michael Vigil (Naomi), Jonathan Joseph, Jarely Joseph, Joselyn Joseph, Adam Joseph and Maria Joseph; great-grsndaughter Holly Vigil.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 6:30 pm at San Juan de Bautista Catholic Church at Ohkay Owingeh, NM.
A Mass will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:30 am at San Juan de Buatista Catholic Church at Ohkay Owingeh, with Burial to follow at the Chamita Cemetery.
