Felix Barroso Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Florida Mortuary Funeral & Cremation Services - Tampa on Feb. 16, 2026.
Felix Barroso, "Lito", age 88, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on May 18, 1937, in Habana, Cuba (Alquízar), to Francisco Javier Barroso Martin and Regla Barroso Pinero, and was the younger of two brothers.

Felix met the love of his life, Angelina Barroso Ferrer, on the beaches of Cuba, where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Together, they later left Cuba in search of a better future and built a life grounded in love, resilience, and hard work. Their marriage of 65 years was a true partnership and the foundation of their family.

Felix worked in construction for many years and took great pride in his trade. Through his work, he helped build and contribute to many communities throughout the Tampa area. He was a man who worked with his hands, providing not only for his family but helping create homes and spaces for others.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Felix's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Angelina Barroso Ferrer; his children, Luis Barroso and his wife Denise, Maria Barroso, Pilar Barroso, and Lazara Barroso; as well as seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy.

Felix found peace on his farm, where he took pride in caring for his land. He loved the water, cherished family gatherings, and especially enjoyed cooking lechón for those he loved. Sitting back with a good cigar, surrounded by family, were among his happiest moments.

Felix will be remembered for his quiet strength, strong work ethic, deep love for his family, and the life he built through dedication and sacrifice. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at La Finca, 8709 N. Meadowview Circle, Tampa, Florida 33625.
