Felix Pressler

On September 12, 2025, Felix Pressler, 80, died peacefully at home, with his wife Karen by his side, after a long illness. He was born in Buckovi, Slovenia, Yugoslavia, the son of Frederik and Gabriela (Sumen) Pressler.
At the age of 8, he escaped from his homeland, along with his parents and brother, Mirko. After several days of walking, they crossed the border into Austria and were placed in a refugee camp for two years. In 1956, they immigrated to the United States and proudly became American Citizens. Felix always had a great love for his Slovenian culture and music, and he was able to visit Slovenia many times. He lived in Torrance and Redondo Beach, California, for 60 years until he retired in 2016, and moved with his wife to Bend, Oregon.
Felix graduated from Long Beach State University with a major in Mathematics. He spent his career working for various financial intuitions in the Secondary Market of mortgage finance. After retiring, he formed his own successful business, consulting firms in the Secondary Market. Felix had a passion for soccer and played for years on local European club teams in San Pedro, California. He also enjoyed downhill skiing, bicycling, tennis, and volleyball. He cherished volunteering as an assistant AYSO soccer coach for his children, taking his daughters to play Club and High School volleyball games. Felix had a great love for his family, especially his five grandchildren, and for his many lifelong friends.
Felix is survived by Karen (Costin) Pressler, his wife for 41 years; his children, Nicole Pressler (Robert Bunt II), Kristin (Jeff) Nunez and Joseph (Lauren) Pressler; his grandchildren, Joseph Pressler Jr, Jesse Pressler, Lilijana Nunez, Madilyn Nunez, Robert Bunt III; and his brother, Mirko (Sally) Pressler. He was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Felix will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His service will be held on October 8, 2025 beginning with a Rosary at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:45 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi, Bend, Oregon. His burial will be held at Deschutes Memorial Chapel and Gardens, Bend, Oregon. Family and friends are respectfully invited.
