Felton Avery Obituary
Ray was born on May 12, 1937, in Erwin, NC, to the late William Henley and Katie Lee Avery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye B. Avery; son, Charles Avery; sisters, Syvonne Williams, Eunice Davis, Betty Blackmon, Janice Avery, Leola Barefoot; brothers, Bobby Avery and James Avery.
Ray worked for more than 50 years as an automotive technician. He was highly regarded as one of the best. He retired from University Ford in Durham.
Ray leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons, Bobby R. Avery and Karen; Barry Avery and Becky; sisters; Brenda Turlington and Larry; Kay Autry and Jerry; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
