Fern I. Fisher, 99, formerly of Centre Twp., and a resident at Laurel Center, Tilden Twp., passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 in Laurel Center. She was the wife of the late Russell Fisher who died November 19, 2006.
Born in Dauberville, she was the daughter of the late Harold A. Kissinger and Laura (Miller) Kissinger Marderness. Fern was a graduate of Ontelaunee High School. She was employed by the Windsor Press as a press operator for 4 years. Fern was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp. She was well known as an avid bowler for more than 50 years with impressive awards for high single, triple and season averages. Her hobbies were gardening, Pinochle, travel, camping, sewing and quilting. Fern's children and grandchildren were always foremost in her mind and her unwaivering love was felt by all.
Fern is survived by her children: Neil R. Fisher, husband of Kathleen S. (Davis) Fisher, Nancy E. (Fisher) Barr, wife of Joseph C. Barr, Sr.; and Suzanne K. (Fisher) Labe, wife of Kevin B. Labe, Sr.; seven grandchildren: Matthew Fisher, significant other of Amy Hollenbach; Andrew Fisher, husband of Kim; Katharine (Fisher) Koch, wife of Ryan; Gregory Barr, husband of Bogusia "Maria"; Joseph Barr, Jr., husband of Elizabeth; Samantha (Labe) Van Reed, wife of Daniel; and Kevin Labe, Jr.; and thirteen great-grandchildren: Damian, Krystian, Justyna, Matthew, James, Alexander, Zora, Lauren, Ben, Ryan, Alex, Jacob and Charlotte. She was predeceased by two brothers: Arlan and Benton Kissinger.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Leesport is in charge of arrangements. For online condolences, please visit, www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com.
