Fernando Basco

Fernando Basco, a true son of Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, and longtime resident of Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey, passed away on the 11th of February, 2026. Born on February 4, 1940, he was a man who lived a life full of heart and warmth, embodying the spirit of his island birthplace. Albert Einstein once said, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile," and Fernando lived this philosophy to its fullest, touching the lives of everyone he encountered.

Fernando was a man who carried his Puerto Rican roots with pride, infusing the vibrant rhythms and soulful melodies of his homeland into every aspect of his life. His infectious laugh and radiant personality were a beacon of light in any room. Even in the quiet New Jersey suburbs, Fernando made sure to keep the fiery spirit of Puerto Rico alive. He was the kind of man who could make a friend out of a stranger, and a family out of friends.
