Fernando J. Fernandez Sr.

It is with great love and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Fernando J. Fernandez, who left us peacefully at the age of 81. Born in Boston, MA, on August 25, 1943.
Fernando embodied grace, class, and quiet strength in everything he did. Those who had the honor of knowing him will forever remember his loyalty and genuine spirit.
Fernando dedicated much of his career to Massport, where he built lasting relationships and served with pride and dedication.
He was the beloved son of the late Eva and John Fernandes. He was predeceased by his siblings, Henry and Adeline, and is survived by his brother, John.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Lou McDonough, and his greatly loved and cherished children: Lissa (Fernandez) Carlino, Tiffaney (Fernandez) Sergio, Nicole (Fernandez) Gamer, Fernando Fernandez Jr., and Tayla Fernandez.
He was the proud Papa of Samuel Sergio III, Dallis Sergio, Savannah Carlino, Sophia Carlino, Alexandra Gamer, Andrew Gamer, and the beloved great-grandfather of Alessandra and Ella.
Visitation will be held at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home (971 Saratoga St, East Boston) on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a brief in-visitation service at 1:30 p.m.
In honoring Fernando's life, we celebrate a man who exemplified humility, class, and love. His legacy of kindness and strength will live on in all who knew and loved him.
