FERNANDO NAJERA MARQUEZ

September 3, 1936 – February 4, 2026

Fernando Najera Marquez was born September 3rd, 1936 in Arvin, CA to Lorenzo and Carmen Marquez. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 4th, 2026. He will be remembered for his integrity, work ethic, volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, and his lifelong passion for golfing with his buddies at the Noon Game.

Fernando graduated from Fresno State University and began an impressive career as a CPA. He was a professor at Bakersfield College, spent time working for the IRS, trained IRS staff in Peru and Panama, and he began his own accounting firm in 1974. Fernando was blessed with three children, John, Steve, and Diana, whom he raised to live life with strength and dignity. Later in life, Fernando met and married Terrie (nee Pasquini), spending many wonderful years together before passing away in 2014.

Fernando was predeceased by his parents; brothers Jesus, Lorenzo, and Raul; sister Carmen Chavez; and wife Terrie. He's survived by sisters Connie Villareal and Edith Lozano; children John (Marti) Marquez, Steve (Shelly) Marquez, and Diana Marquez; and grandchildren Patricia Marquez, Steven Marquez, and Kimberly Marquez; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at St. Francis Church on Thursday, February 19th. A Rosary will be held at 1:30 pm with a Catholic Funeral Mass following at 2pm and a reception in the church hall afterward. Graveside service will take place at Greenlawn Northeast on February 23rd at 9am.
