Opelousas-Funeral service will be held for Ferrell Joseph Comeaux at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel, Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the service. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery in Leonville.
Ferrell, born on February 6, 1959, in Opelousas, Louisiana, departed this life on October 16, 2025, at his daughters home in Sunset, Louisiana. A dedicated Automotive Diesel Mechanic by trade, Ferrell was widely recognized for his expertise and unwavering work ethic in the field.
Ferrell’s passions flourished in the great outdoors, particularly through his love of hunting and fishing—activities that became cherished moments shared with his son, Shawn, his daughter and son-in-law, Martita and Joey, and grandson, Ethan " Bubba". Each cast of the line or hunt through the serene woods echoed laughter and memories that will forever linger in the hearts of his family.
Ferrell had a deep love for his family, which was evident in the way he cherished each moment spent with them. He is survived by his mother, Delores Comeaux of Leonville; his son, Shawn Comeaux of Leonville; his daughter, Marita Comeaux, and her fiancé Joey Boone of Sunset; and the mother of his children, Linda Zerangue-Toten of Opelousas, sister, Melissa Guilbeau, sister in law, Carla Comeaux of Leonville, nephews, Derrick Comeaux, Aaron Comeaux, Dustin Guilbeau, Travis Guilbeau, niece, Sarah Ousley. He was also a proud grandfather to Laila Boone, Isabelle Comeaux, Aliana Boone, Ethan D. Boone, Ethan Comeaux, Luke Boone, and Harper Boone.
He was preceded in death by his father, Affray Comeaux; his companion, Margaret Delahoussaye; his brother, Glenn Comeaux; and his beloved grandparents, Nelton and Agnes Comeaux, and Harvey and Loretta Melancon.
Ferrell was not only devoted to his family but also found joy in fishing and hunting, activities that reflected his love for the outdoors and provided him with countless cherished memories with his children and grandchildren. His spirit and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him, and he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and loyalty.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Comeaux, Joey Boone, Derrick Comeaux, Aaron Comeaux, Ernest Domec, and Jason Duplechain.
