Filippo Simone

Filippo "Phil" Simone passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family. Originally from Mola di Bari, Italy, Phil immigrated to the United States and went on to embody the true "American Dream."
Phil's life was a testament to the power of optimism. His infectious smile and kind-hearted nature were the cornerstones of his character, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He lived his faith through his actions, always putting others before himself and embodying the true essence of charity and compassion.
A loving husband to his wife Rosa, sharing with her a beautiful journey of 63 years, filled with love and unwavering support. Together, they raised a family that became Phil's pride and joy. His children, Rosanna (Dominick), Micheline (Franco), Jonny, Angela (Nick), Lisa (Massimo), and Gianna (Steve). And his cherished grandchildren, Melina, Nico, Marcella, Isabella, Antonella, Gaetano, Enzo, Luciana, Chiara, Gabriella, Jonny, Anthony and Tommy, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Phil's passion for life extended to the outdoors, where he found solace and joy in gardening. A family man who always placed his family above everything. Even as dementia cast a shadow in his later years, Phil's spirit remained unbroken, his optimism undimmed. He continued to inspire those around him with his unwavering love and the selfless way he navigated the challenges he faced.
We honor the memory of Phil Simone, a man who taught us the beauty of living a life filled with love, selflessness, and an ever-present smile. His was a life well-lived, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held at St. Eugene Catholic Church (7958 W. Foster Ave., Chicago, IL 60656) on Thursday, September 11th, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass.
Entombment will take place at All Saints Cemetery (700 N. River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016) Following.
