With great sadness and the humble acceptance of God's will, we gather together today to celebrate the life of Fizul Hussain Khan who departed this life on September 2, 2025 at the age of 75.

Fizul leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was born on October 24, 1949, in Georgetown, Guyana to Mahamad and Kulsum Khan. As the only boy, Fizul enjoyed the nurturing environment of his well-loved sisters Amina Hamid, Karima Alli, Nassima Razak and Aleema Pasha. With the addition of husbands Abdool, Niamat, and Nazir and the arrival of their beautiful daughters and sons, Fizul felt truly blessed.

In the late 1960's, he made his first journey to New York City in search of educational opportunities and found much more. After his arrival in New York, he met Nilda, his loving wife of 54 years and built a career as a graphic artist.

At the age of 22, Fizul was already a dedicated father to Talib, his first-born son. A few years later, he was blessed with the additional arrival of his son Karim and Aleem, who were born in succession.

As a young, skilled artist of the 70's, Fizul was assigned to work on magazines such as Modern Bride and Sports Illustrated. Later on, as technology evolved, he worked at Applied Graphics Technologies, undertaking assignments with the Daily News and acting as comptroller between the New York Times and AGT.

Fizul was respectful in nature, and had a generous heart. He enjoyed helping others grow and succeed. Those taken under his wing, were trained exclusively by him. As soon as they acquired the necessary skills, they were gainfully employed.

Fizul was an avid fan of comedy and of Steve Harvey's, Family Feud. Whenever his favorite comedians: Russell Peters, Jo Koy and Steve Trevino were on, he would curl up on the couch, and soon the sound of laughter filled the room. He loved Puerto Rico, the enchanting sounds of the coqui, and his orange hammock.

As a young boy, Fizul grew up in an agricultural environment and often helped his father, a rice farmer. Fond memories of his mother's vegetable and fruit garden were well remembered. One of his early morning chores was helping her take the harvested produce to the market. It's no surprise that as an adult, Fizul was passionate about growing things and spent most of his spare time tending to his garden. He enjoyed sharing veggies and fruits with family and friends.

Fizul cherished his quiet family environment, and took time to reflect on spiritual teachings. His legacy of love and cherished memories include his beloved grandchildren and an extended family circle with many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, godchildren, neighbors and special friends. He will forever be missed.

May the Eternal Father give rest to his departed soul. Thank you for participating in the loving farewell in honor of Fizul.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home located at 275 West Milton Avenue in Rahway, NJ.

We will gather together again at the funeral home for the Worship Service on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11:00 am Graveside service will be held immediately after at the Rahway Cemetery located at 1670 St Georges Avenue in Rahway, NJ. A special gathering in Fizul's honor will follow.
