Mr. Flor Ortiz

Mr. Flor Ortiz, 50, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home on March 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 1, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York, to Rosa L. Calderin and Ismael Ortiz.

Flor was a man of kindness, skill, and quiet strength. He found joy in simple moments-spending time with his family, watching movies, and fixing cars. A dedicated fan of Star Trek, Flor admired the show's sense of adventure and compassion, qualities that reflected his own character.

For 15 years, Flor worked as a Master Technician at Honda of Watertown, where his expertise and generosity earned him the respect and friendship of his colleagues. His life took a difficult turn in 2024 when he was diagnosed with small cell prostate cancer, but even through his illness, he faced each day with courage, grace, and a selfless concern for others.

Flor is survived by his devoted wife, Elba J. Ortiz; his beloved children, Lilliam, Elysa, Carlos, and Rosa-Luz Ortiz; and his sons-in-law, Brandon Ellis, Daniel Canto-Melo, and Micah Daniels. He was the proud grandfather of Danyela, Josiah, Eliana, and Kamila, with two more grandchildren joyfully expected. He also leaves behind four sisters, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends whom he considered family.

Flor's gentle soul, generous spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need touched countless lives. His memory will live on in the love he shared and the kindness he inspired in all who knew him.

He will be deeply and forever missed.
