Flora Jean Carter

Flora Jean Carter, age 82 of Flat Rock NC passed away Sunday April 17th.
Flora was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 16, 1940 to Henry and Sarafina Coglianese. She married Billy Carter of Whiteville, North Carolina, a United States Marine Veteran, on July 14 1960. For more than 61 years they built an unbreakable and ever-loving relationship that served as the foundation of the family they would raise together.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Carter. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Billy, son William, daughter Elizabeth Dawson, grandsons Joshua Dawson, Patrick Carter and his wife Stephanie, Matthew Carter, granddaughter Sarah Dawson, and great-grandsons Noah & Joshua Carter.
Flora loved to be in the kitchen. Whether she was cooking her famous dessert "Ring Thing" or closely watching her daughter and granddaughter cook, food was a love language.
Without doubt the most precious gift was her time. She would listen to your stories with genuine interest, your problems with active solutions, and your dreams with the highest hope. We will forever miss her.
