Flora Sims Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on May 23, 2024.
Mrs. Flora Sims, of LaGrange, peacefully entered the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on May 23, 2024. She was born in LaGrange on June 19, 1934, to the late Dewey Davis and Flora Gibson Davis. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sims is preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Sims Wyatt, and her son, Jerry "Chip" Sims; her siblings, Mae Edwards, Gibson Davis, John Davis, Maxine Andrews, and Helen Davis; her grandchild, Zac Sims and her daughter-in-law, Betsy Bell Sims.
Mrs. Flora Sims was a lifelong resident of LaGrange and graduate of LaGrange High School. She was a dedicated Christian who devoted her life to serving her family, her church and her community. She was an avid reader and ran a Christian bookstore for several years. Mrs. Flora Sims was known as a fabulous cook and hostess. She was an avid nature and bird watcher and rejoiced in God's daily splendor on her farm. She was also a mighty prayer warrior. Her prayers brought strength and comfort to her friends and family. Her faith never wavered despite tragedies. Her love of studying scripture was reflected in her daily life. Her journey in life provided an example for others to trust and follow the Lord. Although she will be greatly missed, we celebrate that she is now in the presence of our heavenly father.
Mrs. Flora Sims is survived by her children, Tracy Sims, Casey Sims (Kinnett), Todd Sims (Cindy), and Danny Sims (Tracy Lee); her son-in-law, Steve Wyatt; her grandchildren, Josh Wyatt (Callie), Mallory Gaddy, Jamie Sims (Whitney), Cole Sims (Caitlin), Cassidy Sims, Shelby Sims, and Sophie Sims; her great-grandchildren, Walker, Marley, Payton, Brooklyn, James, Betsy, Case, and Magnolia.
A celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange, Georgia at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until service time on Tuesday. The interment will be at a later date.
