Florence J. Blahnik

Florence J Blahnik, age 81, of Barksdale died July 14, 2024. She was born on March 8, 1943 at home in Highbridge WI, the daughter of John and Blanche (Binford) Kleinsteiber.
Florence graduated from Mellen High School and the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She raised five children. She loved to sing and performed in several Wausau Community Theater musicals. She was a licensed real estate broker; and a teacher. Her working career ended when she suffered an aneurysm and two strokes in 1995.
She is survived by her husband Tom of 62 years; her children Vance (Michele), Sebastian (Allison), Timothy (Thanawadee), Blanche (John) Brandser, and Aaron; her brother Ralph Kleinsteiber; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Kenneth, Charles, John, and a granddaughter Grace.
There will be a memorial mass of Christian burial at 11 AM on Saturday, July 27 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Father Jerome D'Souza will be the celebrant. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held after the mass at Saint Agnes Cemetery.
A lunch will be served in Our Lady of the Lake social hall after the interment.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ashland and Mellen, WI.
