Florence E Chesmore, 89, of Hiawatha, Ia. passed away on Monday November 10, 2025 at Hiawatha Care Center. Visitation from 1-2 pm at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home 4200 1st Ave NE Cedar Rapids, on Friday November 14th, with burial service immediately following at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Florence was born on August 21, 1936 to Elmer and Fern Wilson, graduated from Independence High School in 1954, and married Keith Chemore August 29, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence. Keith and Florence lived and raised their family in Quasqueton, and later Rowley, Ia., until the family moved to Cedar Rapids in 1974. She moved to Texas in 1984 and worked at an RV park. Keith retired the following spring and joined her in 1985. They resided in Texas for 37 years until moving back to Iowa, where they've lived the past three years. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Florence had a great passion for reading a good novel and watching golf on Sunday afternoons.

Florence is survived by her husband Keith of 71 years; her daughter Lori (Jim) Conway of Cedar Rapids; daughter Diane (Don) Clouse of Cedar Rapids; son Michael (Kris) of Mesa Arizona, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her sisters Judy Aller, Luanne (Lee) Meader, and brother Dave (Jan) Wilson, along with daughter in-law Linda Chesmore. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Steven, and great-grandson Logan.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hiawatha Care Center for the kind care they extended to Florence during her stay.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
