Nathan Scott Chesmore, 64, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at The University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. The family will host a Celebration of Life from 3 – 8 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Rumors Bar & Grill in Cedar Rapids.

Nathan was born on January 17, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Donald Chesmore Sr. and Katherine (Franks) Chesmore. On September 26, 1986, he was united in marriage to Goldie Bell. Nathan worked as a mechanic for the City of Cedar Rapids, retiring in 2021. He loved antique cars; especially his Chevy Corvair and ’74 Plymouth Duster. Nathan would always drop whatever he was doing to help his granddaughters with any car repairs. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his fiancé, Christina Dixon; stepson, Dean Otto (good friend, Heather Haas); grandchildren, Jessica and Jacey Blackwell, Makyla Haas, Mia Meyer, Maysea Meyer, and Mercedes (William) Schmidt; great-grandchildren; Violet Schmidt, Woodson Baker, Whitley Tompkins, Carson Bauer, Afarrah, JaMarial, and Antione Jr.; sisters-in-law, Melissa Severson, Karen Otto, and Marie Otto; special friends, Sonya Adair, Gary McClure, and Tim Mcloud; dog, Bella; and extended Rumors family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Chesmore; parents, Donald and Katherine Chesmore; brothers, Donald “Butch” (Betty) (Pam) (Linda) Chesmore, Jr. and Terry (Shirley) Chesmore; and stepsons, Elwin and Paul Grimm.
