Lloyd Chesmore, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died June 7, 2024, at Living Center West.
Lloyd Chesmore was born January 4, 1949, in Winnebago, Illinois. He was adopted by Riley & Gladis Chesmore of Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1969.
He met Leanne April 1, and they were married August 24, 1984 and enjoyed almost 40 years together.
Lloyed worked at Sanitation and Solid Waste and retired on May 2, 2011. Lloyd enjoyed spending time with his wife Leanne, son Stephen Lee, his pets, Chika their dog, Oreo their cat, along with family and friends.
Lloyd and Leanne enjoyed going to old car shows, picnics, and visiting family. Lloyd also enjoyed fishing and going places with their camper over the years. He liked going to church and at Christmas time ringing the Salvation Army bell.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Leanne, and four stepsons, Ralph (Melinda) Sauer, Gene (Kristy) Sauer, Jim Sauer and Pete (Heidi) Sauer, along with niece and nephews and many more.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley & Gladis Chesmore and his son, Stephen Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Leanne Chesmore, 923 18th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
A funeral service will be held at: Springs of Life Church, 2300 26th St NW, Cedar Rapids, Saturday, June 29 at 10 am with a lunch reception to follow. (There will be a private graveside service at a different time).
