Florence “Flo” D. Ledet, 74, native and resident of Golden Meadow, passed away on Friday, April 25th, 2025.

Flo is survived by her husband, Britt Ledet; her daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer “Jenny” Ledet & Chase Bouzigard, and Kathleen “Katie” Ledet & Allen Myers.

Flo was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysse and Alza Doucet, and her sister, Mitzi Thibodaux.

Flo was loved by many family members including her grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Flo loved learning. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s +30 from Nicholls State University, majoring in French and minoring in German.

Flo also loved music. She taught piano lessons to many children and adults over the years. She was a choir director and choir member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and The Chapel in Golden Meadow.

She was a very creative person who loved to write stories and speeches. She wrote countless letters to her many beloved pen pals and treasured every letter she received back. She had been writing stories of her life for a book that her family will complete for her. She made everyone she met feel special. She always enjoyed visiting with friends and family.

She loved traveling with her family on long road trips where they talked about everything. Flo battled cancer for 13 years, alongside her husband and caregiver, Britt. She was a warrior who loved her family unconditionally. Thanks to Dr. Laura Chauvin and Dr. Donna Weber for their care and compassion.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Golden Meadow from 10:30AM until the service time. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 12PM. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
