Florence G Halling, age 91 of Durand, died Thursday, May 1, 2025 at her daughter's home in Eau Claire with her family by her side.
Florence was born on November 5, 1933 in Town of Lima, rural Durand. She was the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Bauer) Poeschel. Florence grew up in the Town of Lima and attended country school in Lima. She was a housekeeper and nanny for several years. Florence married Frank Halling on May 20,1953 on Mondovi. After marriage they lived in the Durand area where they raised their family. During Florence's working years she worked Durand canning factory and retired from the hospital in Durand.
Florence enjoyed gardening and playing the piano and accordion. Most of all, Florence loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Florence is survived by her children; John (Chris) of Nelson, Francis "Butch" (Kari) of Durand, Tom of Rice Lake and Theresa Caturia of Eau Claire, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, two brothers; Willard of Stevens Point and Alfred Poeschel of Claremore, OK, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Frank, two children; Lola and Greg, daughter-in-law, Penny Halling and one sister; Elaine Poeschel.
Memorial Mass will be 11:30AM Thursday, May 8, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Durand with Rev. Emmanuel Asamoah-Bekoe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
