COHOES - Florence J. Jannicelli, 86, entered into eternal life Friday, February 21, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Cohoes, she was a lifelong resident of the city. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Flora Cyr Lonczak. She was educated in Cohoes schools and enjoyed working as a seamstress at Barclay Home Products for over 30 years until her retirement.
A highly respected woman, Florence was known for her outgoing personality and generous spirit. She was an excellent cook who loved feeding the masses, especially her famous eggplant parm. She also enjoyed sewing and playing poker with her many friends.
Florence was the loving wife of Donald L. Jannicelli, who passed in 2009; the beloved mother of Donald L. Jannicelli, Jr. (Colleen) of Troy, Anthony Jannicelli of Fla., Nicholas Jannicelli (Lucille) of Marlton, N.J., Melody Jannicelli-Stephens of Kissimmee, Fla. and the late Holly Joy Little, Cynthia Babstock and Joseph Jannicelli; the sister of the late Mary Field; and the adoring grandmother of Stacy, Jaimie, Michael, Florence, Robert, Nick, Maryann, Eric Manuel, Thomas Anthony and Summer-Sunshine Cynthia. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Richard Field; her sister-in-law, Jo Ann McKay; her best friend, Helen Wilbard; as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m., from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes; and at 11:30 a.m., in the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes. Interment will be private, at the convenience of the family.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home, 9-11 a.m., prior to the Mass.
