Maxine passed away on March 31, 2025, with her family by her side.
Maxine was raised in Riverside and Sand Hallow. She met Dewey in Sand Hallow, and they were married on January 7, 1953. Dewey and Maxine raised five children, four boys and one daughter. Dewey worked in construction, so each of their children was born in a different state.
Maxine was a full-time mother until her later years, when she went to work at Valley Fruit and eventually ended her care at the State of Oregon.
Maxine loved cooking, gardening, playing cards, and most of all, family gatherings.
Maxine is survived by her sons Mike (Sheri), Ron (Carlena), Rod (Darla), and Brad (Lisa), and one daughter, Cindy (Frank) Coleman. She has ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Elsie Johnson, three sisters, her husband Dewey Johnson, and her grandson, Chet Johnson
There will be a Graveside Service, Monday, April 7, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser.
Arrangements under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home.

Maxine has been a friend to my mother and I for many years. Many years of playing pinachle and a few beers. I will miss her.
