Florence Pauline (Gabel) McCormick, age 95, Bismarck, passed away on October 28, 2024. She lived at the Baptist Health & Rehab for several years. The staff was exceptional, taking great care of her.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 4 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Florence was born August 18, 1929, at her family farm to Philip & May (Myers) Gabel in Gibbs Township in Burleigh County. She attended Gibbs County School through the eighth grade. Florence worked all her life as a bartender/server where she met a variety of different people and made lifelong friends.
Florence had six children, five that are still living. Carma (Otto) Moe, Patricia Perkins, Patrick McCormick (Dorinna Jundt), Penny Dockter & Leroy (Lisa) McCormick.
She had eleven grandchildren, which were her whole life. She was immensely proud of all their accomplishments. Tina (John) Northway, Joanie Sanda, Stacey (Kevin) Cox, Jason (Faith) Perkins, Rhonda (Shawn) Tooz, Aprill Perkins, Justin Dockter, Samantha (Adam) Stroh, Megan (Dalton) Emter, Ethan Dockter and Jesse (Jermaine) McCormick. She also had 19 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
Her surviving siblings are brother, Durwaine Gabel and sisters, Arlene (Pierre) LaPorte, Marie Vogel and Sharon Kraft. She had many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was preceded by her parents, Philip & May Gabel, son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Linda) McCormick, sons-in-law, Douglas Perkins, John Dockter; granddaughter, Mary Jean Moe; great-granddaughter, Shiloh Jade Emter; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond (Leontine) Gabel, sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlys Gabel, Rosellen Gabel, Shirley (Robert Nies) Knapp, David Kraft and sister-in-law, Charlene Gabel.
