Florence Elizabeth Walton Nixson, 96, of Savannah, Ga passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at Azalealand Nursing Home.
She was born May 17, 1929, to the late Solomon and Eva Walton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Nixson Sr., and son, John Henry Nixson Jr.
She was a retired Registered Nurse from Memorial Medical Center and a devoted member of Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters and a host of loving family and friends.
In honor of her remarkable life, a series of memorial services will take place. On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, there will be a viewing at Adams Funeral Services, located at 510 Stephenson Avenue in Savannah, GA.
The following day, Wednesday, March 18, 2026, a funeral mass will be held at Resurrection Of Our Lord Catholic Church, beginning at 10:00 AM at 112 Fell St, Savannah, GA.
At noon, the solemnity of the burial will take place at the Catholic Cemetery, located at 1720 Wheaton St, Savannah, GA.
As we reflect upon the beautiful life of Florence Nixon, we are reminded of the profound impact she had on our lives. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her, reminding us to approach each day with the same grace and compassion she embodied. Florence will be deeply missed but will forever live on in the cherished memories of her loved ones.
