Mr. Nick, as most people knew him by, was born in Longview, Texas on December 4, 1947. He was born to Edna Stocker Nixson and Frank (Buddy) Nixson. They moved to Port Acres in 1960 and he was a 1966 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Arthur. Mr. Nick was very involved with scouting, holding weekly Cub Scout meetings at his home, and later, becoming a scoutmaster of Troop 67 in Port Neches. He attended Boy Scout camp every year at camp Urland in Woodville, Texas for many years.
