Florence Rose Obituary
Florence Catherine Rose (November 7, 1925) went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 12, 2024. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank, son Val, and her brother William Reid. Florence is survived by Val's widow Louise, 3 sons Mark (Donna), Tom (Paula) and Ralph (Seika), and 7 grandchildren Lucy, Greg, Luke, Max, Leah, Laura and Ken. Florence was born in Yale, Michigan to Thomas H. and Cora (Schantz) Reid and grew up in eastern Michigan. She attended Alpena High School and graduated from Spring Arbor Junior College in 1945 and then from Michigan Normal University (now Eastern Michigan University) in 1947 with a B.S. in Education. She married Frank on June 18, 1948, and then briefly taught first grade at Beecher (MI) and Greenville (IL) Elementary Schools, but later devoted her life to caring for Frank and their 4 sons. Florence enjoyed giving talks to women's groups at many churches in Flint and eastern Michigan. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and good friend to many people. Her laugh and smile were infectious, as was her kindness and hospitality to all she came across. She will be greatly missed.
