Joseph Harold Levack, age 91, of Hillsdale, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 30, 2025. He was born on December 2, 1933, in Glens Falls, New York to Harold R. and Mary Theresa (McDonnell) Levack. Joe married Christine Franckowiak on February 2, 1963, and she survives.

Joe graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1952, and he received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1957, where he also was a member of the University's first ROTC class. Joe honorably served his country in the United States Army as a Company Commander 1st Lieutenant. Over a 50-year career, Joe worked as a sales executive for various manufacturing and medical companies. He was a devoted member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale and a 4th degree and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Joe knew no strangers wherever he went. He took great joy in volunteering his time with the Knights of Columbus and the Cub Scouts, serving as a Scoutmaster. Joe also enjoyed collecting Lionel trains and spending weekends with his siblings at Lake George in Glens Falls, New York.

In addition to his wife, Christine Levack, Joe is survived by four children, Joseph C. (May Sanvoranart) Levack of Akron, Ohio, Jennifer Levack of South Bend, Indiana, Michael (Yurie) Levack of Tempe, Arizona, and Brian (April) Levack of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Joseph J. (Allie Johnson) Levack, Paul Levack, William Levack, Evan Levack, Christina Hetz, Andrew (Danielle) Levack, and Carly (Patrick) Nyiri; four great-grandchildren, Isabella, Alexander, Elena, and Cameron; three sisters, Mary I. Quick, Nora J. Corning, and D. Edwina (Ronald) Godek; and two sisters-in-law, Joann Levack, and Colleen Levack.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; one son in infancy, Thomas Joseph Levack; four brothers, John R. (Ada) Levack, R. Paul Levack, Donald A. Levack, and Harold R. Levack Jr.; twin sisters, Catherine Ann Levack, and Constance E. Adams; four sisters, Theresa Schulman (Robert) Bainbridge, Francis M. (Andrew) Foley, Lucy C. (Earl) Flynn, and M. Noel (Edward) Hennessey; and two brothers-in-law, William Quick, and Richard Corning.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph Levack will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale with Fr. David Reamsnyder officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM, with a rosary service being prayed at 7:30 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
