Keitha Lucene VerPlanck

Keitha Lucene VerPlanck, known for her loving heart and generous spirit, died on January 28, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on November 28, 1939, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Paul and Edna Warner, Keitha grew up in Lansing and Holt, Michigan. She graduated from Holt High School, and later furthered her education at Lansing Community College where she received her degree in Licensed Practical Nursing. She devoted herself to being a wife and homemaker but also worked at times as a cashier, library custodian, and dealership car driver, touching the lives of many with her friendly demeanor.

In her youth, Keitha found faith and friendship through her summers spent at Camp Barakel. Her faith was a part of her being, guiding her actions and interactions with everyone she met. Keitha's spirit found expression in the great outdoors, where she enjoyed road tripping and exploring God's splendor in the forests and lakes of Michigan.

Keitha's interests were diverse. She was passionate about NASCAR and car racing and attended as and watched races on the tv from morning to night. She was an avid genealogical researcher, tracing the roots of her family tree with meticulous care. She volunteered to teach others how to do genealogical research. Her love for genealogy culminated in her becoming a published author, sharing her findings with others.

Keitha was predeceased by her infant son, Dale, whose memory she held close to her heart. She was the beloved sister of the late Karla Elliott and is survived by her children, Andrea VerPlanck, Gregg(Rhonda) VerPlanck, Cari VerPlanck, Douglas VerPlanck; her adoring grandchildren, Sabrina Stryznski, Hannah (Paul Youngblood) VerPlanck, Tyler VerPlanck, Kathryn VerPlanck, and Calvin (Zakiya) VerPlanck; great-grandchild Kathreen, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. Her family was her pride and joy, and she embraced every moment with them.

Keitha's departure from this world was due to heart failure in Cheboygan, Michigan. Yet, her spirit remains a guiding force for all who were blessed to know her. She will be remembered for her loving nature, her friendly conversations, and her generous acts of kindness that made a difference in so many lives.
