Florence Ross

Florence "Lori" Ross, 59, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2026, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lori devoted her life to caring for others, beginning as a registered nurse and later serving in hospital administration, where she worked passionately to improve quality outcomes for patients. She most recently served as Regional Director of Quality at Community Health Systems.

Lori cherished her life in Sun City with her husband, Michael. She loved playing tennis, biking, walking the nature trails, visiting family and friends, cheering on her beloved Eagles and Phillies, and getting lost in a good book-especially Southern fiction.

Lori is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael; her mother, Florence "Ginger" Miller (Randy); her brother, Carmen Alvaro (Jacqueline); her sister, Beth Czubati (Christopher); and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Alvaro. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Virginia Ross; brother-in-law, Thomas Ross (Debbie); sister-in-law, Patricia Kerns (Richard); brother-in-law, John Ross (Lisa); sister-in-law, Maryellen Ross; and her lifelong friend, Karen Winther (Bob).

A Celebration of Life will be held at Sauls Funeral Home, Bluffton, South Carolina, on Saturday, March 14, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lori's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
