Florence Schaubhut Obituary

Florence Falgoust Schaubhut of Algiers, LA passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, at the age of 99. She is survived by her only child, Nancy Ann Schaubhut (St. Michael Special School and the Joy Center). Preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Capt. Huey Peter Schaubhut, N.O.F.D. (Ret.); siblings, Sidney E. Falgoust, Lilly M. Falgoust, Camille L. Falgoust, Rosemary F. Unser, and Estelle M. Falgoust; parents, Ignace J. Falgoust and Estelle M. Pertuit. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court 2165 and was a devout parishioner of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Algiers. She enjoyed going to the casinos with her beloved Huey and was devoted to her daughter, Nancy. The family would like to thank the staff of Woldenburg Village, Hospice Specialists of Louisiana, Dr. Jay St. John, her sitters, Rene, Rose, and Corliss, and West Jefferson Medical Center-8th Floor for their care and compassion. Special thanks and gratitude to her nephew, Andre Bourgeois, for his love and support. Visitation will be held at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Algiers Point on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna. Family and friends are invited to share condolences and memories by visiting: www.mothefunerals.com.
