Florence J. Schultz, of Winona Lake, passed away at Grace Village on Christmas Day at the age of 100. Born in Crown Point, IN on March 11, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Clara Luebcke. After graduating from Merrillville High School, she worked as a secretary for Chicago Title and Trust and was a lifelong farmer’s wife. On June 8, 1947, she married the love of her life, Wilbur Schultz, who preceded her in passing in 2002.
A strong woman of faith, Florence was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Warsaw. Florence was a quilter and donated many of her quilts to numerous Lutheran churches to be given to individuals and families. She enjoyed crocheting, card games, and traveling which included several trips to Hawaii, and they even drove to Alaska. Most of all, Florence loved her family, participating in family gatherings, and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Florence will be missed by her daughter, Carol Plew; grandsons, Ehren (Holly) Plew and Cameron (Christa) Plew; and great grandchildren, Caroline, Wilbur, and Cymon. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to Wilbur and her parents, she was preceded in passing by her daughter, Marjorie Echterling in 2014.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with Florence’s care. Friends and family may gather on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1720 E Center St, Warsaw, IN 46580, from 10:00am ET to 12:00pm ET. At 12:00pm ET, Rev. Bill Carney will officiate Florence’s funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw.
