Florene Beaujon Obituary
An interment ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday (July 25) at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Born on June 7, 1929 in Binghamton, N.Y., Florene was the only daughter of the late Frank L. and Joyce (Pickering) Hathaway. She was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School, and shortly thereafter, married her WWII pen pal sweetheart, Charles Beaujon. Chuck and Florene farmed on Kinne Road in Ovid. She was an active member of the Ovid Federated Church, serving on most of the committees within it. Florene was instrumental in the construction of the current church buildings, the founding the Ovid Food Pantry and the Ovid Thrift Shop - always seeking ways to reach out to and serve the greater community. Florene was a certified Lay Speaker conveying God's message around the state.
Many local children passed through the kitchen door of the Aunt Flo's house, where she nurtured and guided their early childhood years. She loved every single one of them as her own.
She is survived by four children, Linda (Charles) Hurd of Waterloo, Edward (Wendy) Beaujon of Center Valley, Pa., Laurie (Kevin) Butler of Ovid and James (Priscilla) Beaujon of Canandaigua; nine grandchildren, Andrew (Kelly) and Matthew Hurd, Christopher (Lisa) Beaujon, Scott (Lindsay) Butler, Danielle (Brendan) Hoey, Sarah (Ben) Besemer, Allen (Mckenzie), Audra and Alicia Beaujon; 11 great-granchildren, Mackenzie, Mercedes, Miranda, Mattia, Keira, James, Kylie, Greyson, Ella, Hudson and Beauden; her brothers, Robert (Mary Jo), Charles (Helen) and Lon (Michiko) Hathaway; her sister in love, Helen Beaujon Roberts; and dozens of nieces, nephews and their families, who were all near and dear to her heart.
Florene was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles F. Beaujon Jr. in 2013.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I will always remember my resident I took care of on North 2. She was so sweet but also feisty, yet always said I love you when care was completed and I said good night. Rest in peace Florene.

We so loved her, She and Jimmy had a special bond all over a rose that he special delivered to her...from then on she called him her boyfriend. Flo bought me a chronological Bible...just because she loved me she said...I will cherish it and all our beautiful memories...she was a sweetheart and a REAL EARTH ANGEL spreading His word. She got gold wings in Heaven I am sure!!! <3 :) :(
