Frankfort – Floyd Guy Gilbert, Jr., age 73, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Colston officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be observed at the gravesite by the VFW Post 4075. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Guy was born in Frankfort on January 1, 1952, to the late Floyd Guy Gilbert, Sr. and Marjorie Sheets Gilbert. He was an employee of the Kentucky State Government Division of Materials. Guy was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. He was known by his beloved grandchildren as "Ga Ga."
He is survived by his loving wife, Elsie Gilbert; son, Kevin Guy Gilbert (Morgan); daughters, Kelly Gilbert and Brittany Austin; sisters, Glenda Lynch and Deborah Gilbert Yost; and grandchildren, Jackson Austin, Cameron McClintock, Lucas Austin, and Kaydence Gilbert.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Gilbert, Eric Yost, Hunter Warner, Clint McClintock, Dudley Gilbert, Chris Lynch, and Louis Luckett. Honorary pallbearers will be Marjorie Warner, John Scott, Bill Wallace, and Gene Wright.
Flowers are welcome, and expressions of sympathy may be made to Memorial Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
