Floyd Cree Hasty, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2025 surrounded by his wife and girls. Born on June 9, 1941 in Seaboard, NC, Floyd lived a life grounded in Christian faith, devotion to family, and service to others.
He was he beloved husband of Sonee Ferguson Hasty. Together they shared a life marked by love and steadfast commitment for 56 years. Floyd was a devoted father to Kellee Hasty Hawley (Boyd); Jamie Hasty Stroud (Jason); and Erin Hasty Buck (John). He found great joy in his role as "Da" to granddaughters Anna, Meredith, and Paige Hawley, and Blake White and grandsons Noah and Lucas Stroud, Hudson White, and Noah, Joshua, Micah, and Isaiah Buck.He is additionally survived by his siblings C.T. Hasty (Elizabeth), Marshall Hasty, and Rosalee Hasty Nally as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and his furry sidekick, Jack.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Hasty, Sr. and Leasie Davis Hasty, as well as his sisters Virginia Hasty Peede, Carolyn Hasty, and Frances Hasty Warrington and niece Carol Ann Gay.A proud veteran of the United States Army, Floyd served honorably as a member of the Military Police. His time in the service reflected the values he carried throughout his life—loyalty, integrity, and a deep sense of duty.
Floyd found peace and spiritual renewal through his love of nature. Whether planting a vegetable garden, tending to his beloved flowers, fishing, hunting, or tramping through the woods, he embraced the beauty of creation with gratitude and reverence.A memorial service to celebrate Floyd’s life will be held on November 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home on 2205 S. Church Street in Burlington, NC.
