Floyd F. Lutz

Floyd Franklin Lutz, a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated servant to his country, passed away on May 5, 2024, at the age of 75. Floyd was born on September 13, 1948 to Gus and Etta Lutz, and was the youngest of eight siblings.
In 1968, Floyd married Sharon (Reaves) Lutz. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Floyd was a pillar of strength and support for Sharon and their four daughters guiding them with humor and kindness through life's trials and triumphs.
For 28 years, Floyd selflessly served his country, embodying the values of honor, duty, and courage. His unwavering dedication and sacrifice left an indelible mark on those who served alongside him and the nation he proudly defended. He retired as a Master Sergeant First Class and was so proud of his time spent serving our country.
Floyd's legacy extends beyond his military and familial roles; he leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. He was a beloved father to his daughters and son-in-laws (Cheryl & Steve Schwind; Diana & Jason Conner; Missy and Jamie Skidmore; and Carrie & Josh Miller), a doting grandfather to thirteen grandchildren (Kaylin, Kevin, Tyrus, Austin, Dustin, Rose, Allison, Laken, Ayden, Avery, Alex, Andy, and Ben), a proud great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren (Beckham & Reid), and was cherished by a host of other family and friends who loved him dearly. His presence brought joy and laughter to all who knew him, leaving cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Though Floyd has departed from this world, his spirit and the values he upheld will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues.
Floyd's visitation will be Wednesday, May 8th from 5pm – 7pm at Greenlawn North Funeral Home. His funeral, with full military honors, will be on Friday, May 10th at 11am sharp at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
