Floyd L. McCoun, age 90 of Newcomerstown passed away on December 26, 2024 at Riverside Manor.
He was born Feb 4, 1934 at Stone Creek, Ohio to Walter and Martha (Nelson) McCoun. He was preceded in death by his brothers Dick, Herb, Chuck, Roger, and Don; and his sisters Marie Stein, Bernice Burg, Ora Burg, and Evelyn Towland-Gibbons. Floyd honorably served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.
Floyd returned to school at age 60 and earned his GED. He retired after 41 years at Alsco and then retired a second time from Cy Young Lanes. He enjoyed bowling and working on puzzles. He was a mister fix-it.
He is survived by his wife Thelma (Ott) who he married on December 24, 1960, his son Michael (Shawna) and daughter Tonya (Bart). He is also survived by his three grandchildren Jordan McCoun, Jessica McConnell, and Ryan (Jennifer) Webster; his three great-grandchildren Emma and Isabella McConnell, Violet Webster and another baby Webster on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 6, 2025 at West Lawn Cemetery, fellowship to follow at Cy Young Lanes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ohio's Hospice Foundation, 716 Commercial Ave SW New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
