Floyd L. Ramage, born on April 16, 1949, in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado, embarked on his eternal journey on June 8, 2025, after a brave and dignified battle with cancer. At the age of 76, his indomitable spirit and unwavering will to live remain a testament to the extraordinary man he always was.
Floyd's life was marked by profound dedication and a keen sense of humor, which made him a friend to so many. His laughter echoed in the hearts of those who loved him, and he found joy in being a comedian among friends. His willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need reflected the depth of his kindness—a beacon of support in an often tumultuous world.
A proud veteran, Floyd served ten years in the United States Army, completing three tours in Vietnam. His service earned him numerous accolades, including the distinguished Bronze Star and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Badge with Palms, underscoring his bravery and commitment. These experiences shaped not only his character but also enriched his perspective on life, instilling a sense of gratitude and generosity that defined his interactions with others.
Floyd valued education, having attended the Community College of Aurora for two years, where he pursued his passion for computer science. This enthusiasm for learning and growth exemplified his love for knowledge and self-improvement, qualities that he instilled in his family.
In his leisure time, Floyd pursued his passion for bowling, embracing the sport with enthusiasm. His love for competition was matched only by his love for animals, of which he was both a lover and a beloved companion. Grounded in his identity as a proud Colorado native, Floyd appreciated the beauty of his surroundings, often finding solace while he fished in the mountains.
Survived by his wife, Karen, Floyd’s legacy continues through his children, Cruz Vigil and Tristen Ramage, as well as his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren—two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of his spirit. He also leaves behind four nephews and nieces, six great-nephews and nieces, and one great-great nephew, who will remember his warmth and affection fondly.
Floyd's passing leaves a palpable void in the lives of his family and friends, yet his laughter, generosity, and resilient spirit will continue to resonate in the stories shared and the memories cherished.
As we bid farewell to Floyd L. Ramage, we remember him not just for his milestones and accomplishments, but for the love he shared and the indelible mark he made on the hearts of many. His enduring spirit will forever illuminate the path of those who had the honor of knowing and loving him.
