Floyd Riddle

Floyd (Pete) Riddle of Richmond Virginia and Ponte Vedra, Fl passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2023.
He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, father-in-law, mentor and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Floyd Riddle, and will be missed by his sister, Jackie Riddle Davidson.
Pete is also survived by his wife, Irene, of 24 years; his son, Jeff Riddle EE VMI'85; and his daughter, Carolyn Pitcairn, RN, Villanova; two step children, Brian Anderson and Colleen Morris; and 13 beautiful grandchildren.
Upon graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School '53 and Virginia Military Institute '57 he received a M.S. degree in Organic Chemistry from Purdue University.
Following his education he entered the army as a Captain and became Commandant of the Ft. Dix CBR School where he was awarded a Commendation Medal.
The next 40 years Pete worked in industry at Rhom and Haas Co. and Air Products and Chemicals as a research polymer chemist with product improvement, new product development, manufacturing, and technical service responsibilities.
After retirement, he and Irene enjoyed biking and hiking in Europe along with River and Ocean cruises.
