Floyd Wayne Smith, aged 71, passed away on June 2, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Born on June 15, 1953. Floyd was a United States Army Veteran.
Floyd is remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and brother. His family was his pride and joy, including his sisters Tina Malone Jackson (Jonny) and Cinthia Houk (Tim); his daughter, Jennifer Larissa Smith; and his son Floyd Wayne Smith II.
Floyd was a cherished grandfather to Jesse Bruner (Nicole), Heather Bruner, Justin Bruner, Jamey Bruner, Jonathan Bruner, Kailene Faye Smith, Cali Smith, Victoria Smith, and Bryson Smith. He also had the joy of knowing his great granddaughter, Baylee Nicole Bruner. Floyd leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him greatly.
Floyd was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Christian Underwood; his father Tony Wayne Smith; his brother, James Mitchell Darnell; and his sisters, Vickey Darnell Hubbard and Kimberly Ismy Woodside.
To honor Floyd's life, a gathering will be held at Settle Wilder in New Smyrna Beach on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 4pm – 6pm. Friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Floyd are welcome to attend and share in commemorating his legacy.
