It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Floyd Thomas, who departed this life on August 3, 2025, at the age of 60, at Deaconess Midtown with his family by his side. Floyd was born on September 7, 1964, in Evansville, Indiana, to Ethel Mae Thomas, where he spent his entire life, leaving a lasting impact on his community and those who knew him. Floyd was a beloved figure among his family and friends, known for his kind heart and gentle spirit. Despite facing the challenges of being disabled, he approached life with unwavering resilience and positivity. His courage often inspired others, reminding everyone of the strength that lies within the human spirit. Floyd enjoyed music; he loved fixing his stereo, taking it apart, and fixing it again. He found great pleasure in fishing, but his greatest joy was lovingly aggravating Yalanda. He is survived by his devoted companion of 25 years, Yalanda Clement, who stood by his side through thick and thin.
Floyd leaves behind his brothers, Michael, Terry, Tony, and James Thomas, and his sister, Gloria Turner, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, extended family, and friends who will cherish the many cherished memories of their times together. As well as "Man's Best Friend," Zeus, his beloved spoiled pup .
As we celebrate Floyd's life, we invite family and friends to join us for the funeral services. We encourage all who knew Floyd to come and share their stories, offering comfort to one another and honoring a life filled with love, laughter, and perseverance. Floyd Thomas will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the light he brought into the lives of others. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love he so freely gave.
Floyd was preceded in death by: His Mother, Ethel Mae Thomas Jr., and grandmother, Ethel Mae Thomas Sr..
