Fonda Luanne Houck, 64, of Granite, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at her home. Fonda was born on July 22, 1961, to David and Frances Tate and was raised in the Mangum area. A proud 1979 graduate of Mangum High School, Fonda made a mark in many areas of her community throughout her life.

Fonda dedicated herself to several different roles, from working at the Oklahoma State Reformatory and Walmart to managing a convenience store. For the last several years, she found joy and purpose volunteering at Granite Public Schools, where she was loved by many. Her warm and giving spirit made a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Outside of her work, Fonda had a wide array of interests that brought her happiness. She enjoyed fishing, playing card games, and especially spending quality time with her grandchildren. Fonda also cherished trips to Branson, attending musicals, watching Elvis impersonators, and indulging her love for collecting purses.

Fonda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Houck, and her father, David Tate.

She is survived by her mother, Frances Tate; her daughter, Tatum Mattingly; Sons, Rodney Hawkins and B.J. Hawkins; Brothers, Jack Herron, Scott Tate, and Howard Tate; Sisters, Shelly Davis, Kim Warren and Laurie Foster; her grandchildren, Leah, June, Hazel Hawkins, Jacob, Andrew, Addison Mattingly, Elizabeth, Anthony, and Hayden Hawkins; and her great-grandchild, Dio Hawkins. Fonda will also be greatly missed by many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her.
