Francis "Fran" Louis Dacri, a talented chemical engineer and passionate golfer, passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on November 24, 1945 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Fran dedicated much of his professional life to DuPont, where he worked as a chemical engineer. A proud alumnus of West Boylston High School and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Fran's education laid the foundation for a successful career and a life enriched by his skills and interests.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Fran was known for his mechanical aptitude, often applying his talents to various projects around the house. A jack of all trades, he thrived on working with his hands and was celebrated among friends and family for his frugality and habit-driven lifestyle. Despite being a creature of habit and a homebody, Fran fully embraced the joyful spirit of Christmas, hosting Italian dinners for friends in place of distant family to celebrate the holiday.

Fran was an avid golfer, a passion that consumed much of his time after retirement. He played three to four times a week and cherished teaching his daughter, Christina Wantz, and his grandchildren, Andrew Wantz and Anna Wantz, the intricacies of the sport. His commitment to Old Hickory Country Club, which he proudly called his golfing home since 1968, underscores his deep love for the game and the lasting friendships he fostered over the years.

His interests extended beyond the greens; Fran had a penchant for simple pleasures such as Dr. Pepper, Oreos, breakfast for dinner, and enjoying a good steak. He also relished twisted tea and dark chocolate, along with the classic satisfaction of peanut butter crackers.

Fran was a devoted husband and steadfast caregiver to his beloved wife, providing unwavering support for 30 years as she suffered with multiple sclerosis.

Fran is survived by his daughter, Christina Wantz (Wayne); siblings, Marlene Walt (Stephen) and Richard Dacri (Barbara); and his beloved grandchildren, Andrew Wantz and Anna Wantz. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Jane Dacri, and his parents, Louis Dacri and Margaret Friguglietti Dacri.

Fran Dacri will be remembered not only for his contributions to his profession but also for his enduring legacy of love for family, friends, and the exhilaration of the game he adored.
