Fran McMahan

Fran McMahan, born Frances Shelton on April 4, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, departed from this world on February 28, 2026. Widowed, Fran resided in Midlothian, Texas, her charismatic spirit and loving nature filling her home with warmth. This dedicated woman of faith, often known as Fran, lived her life in the service of God, her family, and her friends. A retired programmer from AAFES HQ in Dallas, Texas, Fran's dedication was felt across all aspects of her life, from her professional career to her personal relationships.

Fran's spirited nature shone through her hobbies, which included writing poetry, reading, caring for plants and gardening. Her love of God was evident in her daily life, as she sought to worship Him whenever possible. She was an integral part of her community in Midlothian, and prior to that, in Arlington, Texas. Her deep faith, coupled with her radiant smile, made her a beacon of hope and comfort to those around her. Fran will be remembered not only for her unwavering faith but also for her dedication and love for her family and friends.

Fran is survived by her family members: Teri Morton, her daughter, Tommy Witherspoon, her son, Angela McMahan, her step-daughter, granddaughters Keri Cheek and Candis Humphreys, grandson Kevin Seymour, and their respective partners. Fran leaves behind a legacy of love in her great-grandchildren Jacob Cheek, Alison Cheek, Luke Seymour, Rutledge Seymour, Lila Scott, and Jett Witherspoon. Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Texas Mask and Garland Shelton, her spouse Cliff McMahan, and her grandson Aaron Witherspoon.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 6:00 pm CST at the Midlothian Funeral Home, located at 200 East Avenue East, Midlothian, Texas, 76065. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 11:00 am CST at the same location. The burial will follow on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm CST at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas, 75211.
