Willodean McMahan, 80, of Philpot, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Heartford House while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born on November 22, 1945, in Louisville, KY to the late Elmer and Daisy Sanders Clark. She grew up in the Brownsville area near Mammoth Cave, graduating from Brownsville High School.
Mrs. McMahan had several different jobs in her youth, including at a truck rest stop, Mallory Capacitors, Bell Telephone as a long-distance operator, a waitress, beautician, then settling into a spot as an office secretary at the Roosevelt House in Owensboro where she retired after 25 years.
She met Larry McMahan in the late 1960’s and they married in Cave-In-Rock, IL on July 28, 1973. Larry and Willodean spent a great deal of time traveling for Larry’s job, visiting 35 states during their adventures. Together they were members of the Sunset Cruisers street rod club, the Owensboro Antique & Classic Auto Club, and the retiree club for IBEW Local 1701.
Willodean is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry McMahan; a sister, Nelda Clines of Brownsville, KY; sisters-in-law, Jolene Hudson (Jimmy) of Oklahoma City, OK and Connie Demarest (Jimmy) of Owensboro; close friends, Robert and Agnes Barron of Hartford, KY, along with several nieces and nephews. Special recognition is extended to OHRH staff, Ohio County Healthcare Infusion Center, Vanderbilt-Ingraham Cancer Center for 34 years of care, and Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory for their extra care.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Friday, February 27 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral service for Willodean will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Resurrection Chapel with Robert Barron officiating. Entombment to immediately follow.
