Frances (Fran) Elaine Allain, March 6, 1936 - April 22, 2025, passed peacefully in her sleep in Arvada, Colorado at the age of 89.
Fran worked as a switchboard operator when she was young. After graduating high school, Fran (Osgood) married Armand (Al) Allain in 1955 in Salem, Massachusetts. They lived in Florida and Alaska before settling in Colorado.
Fran was a stay at home mom although she worked a few jobs throughout her life. While her children were in school, she volunteered at their school (St. Pius X Catholic School) assisting in the classroom with reading and working in the office. When her children were older she was secretary for Al’s electrical business and was a telemarketer.
Al and Fran were avid campers and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada. Their love of camping led them to become lifetime members of the Good Sam Club.
Fran is preceded in death by her husband, mother and father. She is survived by her sister Sandra Bell, daughter Cheryl (Paul) Ramage, daughter Janet Price, daughter Gail (Edward) Hogan, and son Craig (Kimberly) Allain. Fran has six grandchildren, Jason (Carlie) Allain, Jessica Price, Amy (Tyler) Slosser, Amber Allain, Joseph (Amy) Hogan, and Brian (Samantha) Hogan. She has six great-grandchildren, Stephen Slosser, Parker Allain, Anson Slosser, Ashlyn Allain, Kolby Hogan, Rhett Slosser and an expected seventh great-grandchild.
There will be a burial at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236. Staging time and Area at Fort Logan before proceeding to the ceremony site will be updated once information is made available.
Keeping with Fran’s wishes, the family is requesting donations to the Kidney Foundation in lieu of flowers.
